The Intensive Approach (Recommended)

Finish the entire program as quickly as possible then immediately:

Practice speaking with native speakers.

While full comprehension of fast-talking native speakers takes time, this method allows you to quickly reach a conversational level so you can enjoy the language and learn in a more natural and relaxed way.

The Flexible Approach

You have access to our app for an entire year, so you can:

Use it passively in your spare time.
Incorporate it as a supplement to other learning techniques.
Progress at a comfortable pace that fits your schedule.

While we recommend the intensive approach for fastest results, the flexible method still provides excellent language acquisition. The intensive home retreat is always available to you.

How to use the app:

Just press play, relax, and let the language flow.

If you don't understand something, don't worry about it—just ignore it and keep going.
If something confuses you, make a mental note; you'll likely encounter it again and it will eventually click.
If you're really curious about something, you can take a screenshot and look it up later.
Focus on the 80% you can easily understand.
The goal is to build enough foundation so that when you start reading, you can continue learning both through context and by looking up new words as needed.

Speaking bonus: Try repeating what you hear in the audio, even if you're just mumbling. Don't worry about saying it correctly—the speed of the audio makes that difficult. It will help your brain separate the words and will help you start speaking sooner.

The main setting controls the number of audios that play for each sentence:

The English audio can be turned on or off.
The target language can be played once or twice.

Our Methodology

We collaborated with doctors of linguistics to weave vocabulary and grammar into carefully designed sentence sequences. The Turbo Tongue app repeatedly exposes you to the most important words and grammatical structures so that your brain can intuitively absorb the language, rather than trying to force it with memorization and studying.

Our program is built around two of the most studied language learning methods:

Spaced repetition and comprehensible input.

Spaced repetition presents vocabulary at strategic intervals. This technique builds stronger memory connections while reducing overall study time, making language learning more efficient.

Comprehensible input is a language learning approach where students are exposed to content just slightly beyond their current level. Developed by Dr. Stephen Krashen, this method emphasizes meaning and context over grammar rules, building understanding through repeated exposure. Listening exercises, visual support, and strategic vocabulary building help develop natural fluency while creating direct connections between language and meaning—just like how we learn our first language

These two techniques are combined with our own proprietary method:

Rapid Passive Immersion (RPI).

Rather than slow, segmented lessons, RPI immerses you in a continuous stream of sentences at an accelerated pace, eliminating unnecessary pauses. This allows you to absorb 600-1200 sentences in the same time other programs might cover just 100, dramatically increasing your exposure and reinforcing natural language patterns without extra effort.

This intensive course is the first step in a three step methodology.

Reading reinforces what you are learning by seeing it in different contexts.

Start Reading Immediately

The most critical step after completing your 2-day immersion is to begin reading short stories right away. This locks in what you've learned and continues your comprehensible input journey naturally.

Why Reading Is Essential:

Strengthens neural connections while they're fresh.
Allows you to process sentences at your own pace.
Quickly introduces you to new vocabulary.
Builds understanding of grammar and tense through context.
Prevents loss of progress (like "saving a file").

Practice with Native Speakers.

After reading for a while, you'll want to jump into speaking with native speakers as much as possible. This is where you start gaining real fluency. You can find tutors or language exchange partners online, text with your friends, or even speak to people in person.

Just enjoy the conversation, talk about your day, and ask them to help you when you can't find a word your are looking for. If you can speak to someone five days a week, you will progress incredibly quickly. And, it's cheaper than going to therapy!
